Both events will take place at the USF Marshall Student Center. This brand new 230,000 square foot facility was funded by a fee approved by the students in 2003, and it features a 1,200 seat ballroom, 400 seat multipurpose room, 700 seat auditorium, 100 workstation computer lab, expansive food court, sports grille, and restaurant, more space for student organizations, a variety of lounges, study spaces, and programming areas, large atrium and gathering space, several outdoor programming areas, courtyards, and outdoor eating areas, and more retail stores. The facility incorporates dozens of sustainable design features. These are detailed on the construction website. Organizers anticipate several thousand attendees at the Getting Green by Going Green EXPO, including students, business owners and members of the growing green community. The event is designed to focus on sustainability issues and opportunities that face the Tampa Bay region, showing the nation and the world that this is a viable place to grow a sustainable business or industry.
This year the EXPO will feature formal exhibits inside the Marshall Student Center, an outside small business and student Marketplace along with solar exhibits and eco vehicles throughout the beautiful Marshall Student Center grounds. Participants in the Going Green Tampa Bay EXPO 2009 will get exposure at two events for the price of one! You can help us get the word out about the October 9-10, 2009 Going Green Tampa Bay EXPO by distributing this new poster to friends, family, and coworkers. You can send them a link to this website, www.GoingGreenTampaBay.com, or simply sign them up for a free subscription using the email box on the left. If you have access to a bulletin board at your office, park, recreation center, or school, please print one out and hang it up. This year’s Going Green Tampa Bay Expo is joing forces with the Campus and Community Sustainability Conference. By hosting both events the same week at USF’s Marshall Student Center, we are able to bring together the best thinking on sustainability as well as some of the best consumer-focused products, services, and information. You have the opportunity to attend both events. Exhibitors and sponsors benefit from the increased audience. Families from around the Tampa Bay area have many fun, interactive activities to explore while enjoying the beautiful USF Tampa campus.
