ECOlution Schedule

Schedule of Events | April 17 - 22, 2008

17 April Thursday Project | ZERO (TECO Gallery)

  • Architecture + Interior design green products show featuring a discussion of the owner’s role in Green Building design
  • Free and open to the public, 5:30pm-9pm

18 April Friday  Paint the Town GREEN (various locations in & around Downtown Tampa)

  • Participants will receive passports to record the journey of visiting the bars, galleries and destinations along the new Green Line and the TECO Streetcar.  Those savvy enough to master the mass transit and get their passports stamped by all participating establishments will be recognized for completing the tour.
  • Free, beginning at 5pm at the 6th Annual State of the River address at the Tampa Convention Center.

19 April Saturday  ECO.lution Festival (Lykes Gaslight Park, Downtown Tampa)

  • Outdoor Expo featuring green products, practices, services, solutions and food
  • Live music including Shane Meade & the Sound - soul-infused, folk rock, with a splash of mountain funk
  • Visionary speakers talking about what it will take for us to have successful and sustainable communities in Florida
  • Family activities include The Kids Tent where eco-minded kids can make art out of recycled stuff, learn about gardening, earth scouts and express their green-selves in our video booth where kids will be asked to share what they’d like to do to protect the environment.  The collective wisdom and ideas of Tampa’s children will later be edited and shared with the world on YouTube.
  • Free, from 10am-5pm.

22 April Tuesday Earth Day Movie on the lawn -  (Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center)

  • is about the economies of being environmentally conscious. Shot in high definition with cinematic lenses, e² chronicles global efforts to solve pressing ecological challenges. From energy consumption to design efficiency, policy to industry, the series documents the innovators whose work is reducing humans' impact on the environment. Interviews with experts, policymakers and pioneers across a variety of disciplines offer a firsthand account of the complex environmental challenges that we face, as well as the possibility that pragmatic solutions are within reach.
  • Free, movie starts 8 pm.
